Overview

Roof replacements, painting, rendering and tree removal often have to happen right next to your overhead service line. Working near a live line isn't safe, and most trades won't start until it's disconnected.

We disconnect the service before the work starts and reconnect it when it's finished, so your trades can work safely and on schedule.

Why a disconnection is needed

A live service line near a roof, facade or tree is a serious electrocution risk for tradespeople. Under WorkSafe rules, work near live overhead lines needs safe approach distances, and the simplest fix is often to disconnect the service while the work is done.

Disconnect and reconnect

We disconnect the service at the pole or point of attachment, make it safe for the trades to work, then reconnect and test once they're finished. Where work runs over several days, we can arrange temporary supply.

Booking ahead

Give us a few days' notice so the disconnection lines up with your roofer, painter or arborist. For urgent jobs, call and we'll do what we can.
