Local Level 2 Service

The Inner West has some of Sydney's oldest electrical connections. Terraces and cottages built a century ago still take power through overhead service lines and wall-mounted brackets that were never designed for today's loads.

We're an accredited Level 2 Service Provider on the Ausgrid network, so we can replace service lines, repair points of attachment, upgrade supply and fix defect notices across the Inner West, from the disconnection through to reconnection and network paperwork.

Local Conditions

Homes and Common Level 2 Jobs in This Area

Victorian and Federation terraces, semis and cottages make up much of the Inner West, many on narrow lots with overhead services crossing the footpath to a fascia or wall bracket. Newer apartment and townhouse developments around Rhodes, Canada Bay and the light rail corridor are mostly underground supply.

  • Old overhead service lines sagging low over narrow streets and laneways
  • Rusted points of attachment on terrace facades and parapets
  • Older meter boards, some with asbestos backing
  • Supply upgrades for renovations, second storeys, air con and EV chargers

Local FAQ

Questions We Get Asked in This Area

Is the Inner West on Ausgrid or Endeavour Energy?

The Inner West is on the Ausgrid network. Any work on your service line, point of attachment, consumer mains or metering has to be done by an accredited Level 2 electrician and notified to Ausgrid.

Can my terrace's overhead service line be moved or put underground?

Usually, yes. On narrow terrace lots the options depend on where the street pole is, footpath access and your meter position. We assess the site, design the route and handle the Ausgrid paperwork.

My bracket on the parapet is rusted. Is that a Level 2 job?

Yes. The point of attachment carries the weight of the service line, and a corroded bracket is a common defect on older Inner West homes. We replace it and re-terminate the line in one visit.

Do you need to cut the power to replace an old meter board?

Yes. We disconnect at the service line, replace the board and reconnect the same day in most cases, so you're only without power for the hours of the job.
