Overview

If the wire from the street to your house is old, sagging, damaged or too small for what you need, it has to be replaced by a Level 2 Accredited Service Provider. Your regular electrician isn't allowed to touch it.

We replace and upgrade overhead service lines across the Ausgrid and Endeavour Energy networks, and handle the disconnection, reconnection and paperwork in one visit wherever possible.

What an overhead service line is

The overhead service line is the wire that runs from the distributor's pole in the street to the connection point on your property, usually a bracket on the house or a private pole. Installing, replacing or upgrading it is Class 2C Level 2 work.

When it needs replacing

Lines age. Insulation cracks, clearances drop as wires sag, and trees grow into them. A line that crosses a driveway or footpath too low is a hazard, and a renovation or second storey can change the clearance needed. All work is done to the Service and Installation Rules of NSW.
