Overview

Adding ducted air con, an EV charger or a pool can push your existing supply past what it can handle. The result is tripping, poor performance, or a network that won't approve the new equipment.

An increase of load upgrades the supply to match, and as Level 2 electricians we can do the whole job: the application, the service line and the work inside the property.

Single-phase vs three-phase

Most older Sydney homes have a single-phase supply. Large air conditioners, fast EV chargers and workshop equipment can need more than it delivers, which means upgrading the supply, often to three-phase.

What the upgrade involves

An increase of load usually needs an application to Ausgrid or Endeavour Energy, then a new or upgraded service line, consumer mains and meter panel work, and switchboard changes on your side. We lodge the application and coordinate every step. The network sets the approval timeline; the work itself is usually done in a day.
