Overhead service lines sag over time as fittings loosen, brackets corrode or poles lean. Heat makes conductors expand and sag further, and storms or trees can pull them down.
Service lines have minimum clearances over driveways, footpaths, roofs and yards. A line that's too low can be hit by trucks, caravans, ladders or boats, and may lead to a defect notice. If a line is on the ground or within reach, keep well clear and call the network's emergency line.
See overhead service lines and service line relocation.
Minimum clearances are set by the NSW Service and Installation Rules and depend on what's underneath. We measure and advise on site.
Yes. If you've got a delivery, crane or removal truck coming, book us in advance to raise or temporarily disconnect the line.
