Overview

A home EV charger is one of the biggest loads a house can add. Some homes take it easily; others trip the main switch, or need three-phase power for a faster charger.

We check your supply, tell you whether an upgrade is actually needed, and if it is, do the network application and the upgrade so your charger can be installed.

Do you need an upgrade?

Many home EV chargers run on single-phase power, and plenty of homes can take one without changing the supply. Faster three-phase chargers, or homes already running ducted air con, a pool or a large battery, may need more capacity. We assess your existing load first and tell you honestly if an upgrade is needed.

What the upgrade involves

Where it's needed, an EV supply upgrade is an increase of load: a network application, an upgraded service line or three-phase supply, and switchboard work to suit the charger. Your charger installer can then fit the unit, or we can do the whole job.
