Overview

Your solar or battery installer can only go as far as your supply allows. If your home is on an older single-phase supply, or the meter panel and service line are undersized, the upgrade has to happen first, and it has to be done by a Level 2.

We work alongside solar and battery installers across Sydney to get the supply ready, so your system can be installed and connected without delays.

Where Level 2 fits into a solar or battery install

Your solar installer designs the system and submits the connection application to the network. Ausgrid notes that once approved, the installer completes the installation and you may need to organise a metering upgrade with your electricity retailer.

Where we come in is when the supply itself has to change first: an upgrade from single to three-phase, a larger service line, meter panel changes or a new switchboard. That work has to be done by a Level 2 before the solar or battery can go in.

Why it's so common right now

The federal battery discount has driven a surge in home batteries across Sydney, especially in the west and the Hills. Bigger systems often outgrow an older home's single-phase supply, and the upgrade becomes the critical path for the whole install.
